California has a unique opportunity to improve public education through the adoption of the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) which are designed to increase expectations, make students globally competitive, go deeper into subjects and provide for a more active curriculum.
Early Learning Support Services (ELSS) leads San Mateo County in developing and sustaining collaborative partnerships that support equitable, high quality education and care for children birth through grade 3 and their families.
The back-to-school season is a good time for administrators to review emergency plans with staff and for parents to review safety rules with their children. We want to share with parents and community members the safety protocols currently in place across the county and in our schools and to reassure them the safety of our children is our top priority.
The SMCOE STEAM Center provides teachers and administrators research-based professional development in STEAM content and pedagogy to engage, educate, and inspire our 21st century learners.
